TIPS TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR CACTUS 1. WATERING Don't need to be watered frequently. In fact, overwatering can be harmful to cacti. Water your cactus only when the soil is completely dry, and be sure to water deeply to encourage the roots to grow. 2. SUNLIGHT Cacti need plenty of sunlight to thrive, so be sure to place them in a sunny spot where they can receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day. 3. POTTING Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the cactus and has drainage holes to prevent water from pooling at the bottom. Avoid using pots with saucers, as this can cause water to accumulate and lead to root rot. 4. PRUNING Cacti don't require much pruning, but you can trim off any dead or damaged growth using a clean, sharp pair of scissors or pruning shears. Be careful not to damage the healthy parts of the cactus. 5. FERTILIZER Cacti don't require a lot of fertilizer, but you can feed them with a diluted cactus fertilizer once or twice a year during the growing season (spring and summer)
