PROJECT: CDM Energy Secretariat REPORTING PERIOD: 1 – 31 Oct 2013 Project Brief/Summary • Appointed since 2002 • 101 registered energy projects with CDM EB • 37 CDM projects received CER Objectives • To carry out a first evaluation of CDM project proposals • To create awareness on CDM and disseminate information • To assist the DNA in monitoring the CDM projects • To provide reference materials as a guide in CDM project development • Project Fund: • RM 59,086.00 (NRE) • Duration: • May – Dec 2013 • Expected Outcomes • complete the Study on 2012 Grid Connected Electricity Baselines in Malaysia by Nov 13. • Prepare the Malaysia CDM Information Handbook V.3 (e-version) by Nov 13 • Conduct 3 Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on CDM Activities by Dec 13 • conduct 2 site visits to CDM projects on Sept & Oct 13 • Status • 90 % completed (data collection & analysis) • 100 % completed by July 2013 • 100 % completed • 100 % completed

PROJECT: CDM Energy Secretariat REPORTING PERIOD: 1 – 31 Oct 2013 Activities Completed (During reporting period) • Joint workshop on the framework for various approaches, non-market-based approaches and the new market-based mechanism, Bonn, German 7-10 Oct 13 • 2013 International Seminar on Understanding NAMAs and Capacity Building of 2013 ASEAN+3 CDM) Cooperation Programme, Seoul, Korea 15-17 Oct 13 • Workshop on Challenges & Opportunity of CDM Implementation, Sarawak, Sabah & KL on 21, 23 and 29 Oct 13 respectively • Site visit to Tawau Geothermal Project, 24 Oct 13. % completed:80 % based on report completion % funds utilised:65 % based on progress payment by NRE (RM 38,406.00) • Activities Planned (For next reporting period) • NCCDM 3-2013 meeting, 1 Nov 13 • CDM Electricity Baseline Colloquium, 14 • Nov 13 • Final Report Submission, 25 Nov 13
