Homework for next class • Read: Gerard Manley Hopkins (pp. 1513-16): “God’s Grandeur” (p. 1516), “The Windhover” (p. 1518), “Pied Beauty” (p. 1518); Oscar Wilde (pp. 1686-87): “Impression du Matin” (pp. 1687-88), “The Harlot’s House” (pp. 1688-89), from De Profundis (pp. 1740-43) • Reading Response: Do one of the responses on Wilde / Hopkins • Quiz next class. It’s mainly on the poems covered in class last class and today (Tennyson, Arnold, Browning, and Rossetti), but know also the headnotes in NA.
