Technical issues - evaluation • Technical issues: • Technical problems can slow down the learning process in Tele-Leofil and influence local class work • Technical problems in the Tele-Leofil-system were solved with good help from Josef Burgard • Using Tele-Leofil videoconferencing and application sharing system demands • good technical IT knowledge from Tele-Leofil – teacher and local teacher to support local students and organize local work on exercises uvi*2 2003
Pedagogical issues - evaluation • Pedagogical issues in Tele-Leofil system: • Changes of traditional local ‘teacher role’ • Local language teacher gets supplementary functions as an organizer, consultant and IT support person • Local class and group work has to be organized to avoid ‘waiting’ • More ‘equality’ and ‘personal contact’ between distance teacher and student • Tele-Leofil conferencing system gives an ‘equal’ connection between individual students and Tele-Leofil-’teacher’ • Long term planning of distance learning-sessions necessary uvi*2 2003
Training in Tele-Leofil - evaluation • Talking together • Seeing each other • Listening to each other • Working together on application-sharing demands natural and equal collaborative working and interaction skills from the communication partners in TELE-LEOFIL. uvi*2 2003
Students’ evaluations • What was the best in Tele-Leofil? ” To speak with Karen and at the same time have the possibility to write together and to get my errors corrected immediately” Mirwais Sakanai, from Afghanistan uvi*2 2003
