Lateral Entry for Diploma Holders Engineering has become one of the most desired career options for young aspiring students. As a lot of students enrol for B.Tech admission after completing their schooling, it creates a tough competition for students aspiring to be engineers. In such scenario where people are specializing in different field, just a diploma is not enough to land a good pay check. Therefore aspiring diploma holders can enrol for B.Tech Lateral Entry (LE). A student with science and maths background and who has completed his 10+2 education with minimum 60% marks can opt for a diploma course. After completing this diploma course they can take direct B.Tech admission 2018. Only those students who have completed their engineering diploma programme can apply for B.Tech LE.
Many top prestigious colleges have the provision for Lateral entry for diploma. These students enter from the second year of the B.tech course and complete their engineering in 3 years. Eligibility: Aspiring students in order to become eligible for B.Tech LE should successfully complete a 3 year diploma in engineering. Or, the students appearing for final year diploma exams can also apply for B.Tech admission 2018 directly from second year. However these students are required to produce provisional certificate at the time of admission. Admission Process: Entrance exams drive the admission process of B.Tech LE programmes. Most government and private colleges take students on the basis of respective state entrance exams. Is B.Tech LE same as regular B.Tech? As a regular diploma in engineering is not enough to land good job opportunities, diploma students generally prefer to opt for B.Tech LE programmes to enhance their skills and acquire more professional knowledge. There is not much difference between these two programmes though. However entrance exams may differ for these two programmes and the choice of career taken by these students may be different too.
Which is better: Regular B.Tech or B.Tech LE? To avail better opportunities diploma students take B.Tech LE programmes. Both these programmes, B.Tech and B.Tech LE offer almost the same job opportunities. However it is believed that diploma holders have the practical and core subject knowledge which help to understand machines and techniques better. This knowledge and added skills provide additional advantage to students who are aspiring to become software engineers, electric engineers or mechanical engineers. Diploma courses aim to provide industry driven education. With hard work and determination along with well education planning anyone can secure a seat in one of the top colleges in engineering.
