A large crowd of Buddhists protested against the ban. 13. In March 1950, China’s government marched into Tibet and treated everyone unfairly. In 1959, the Tibetan Buddhist leader (Dalai Lama) ordered a peaceful protest in the streets demanding an end to Chinese rule. In response to this protest, Chinese troops killed thousands of Tibet protesters. The Chinese government banned the Dalai Lama from Tibet (he is now in exile). He can only return if he promises not to protest against China. The Dalai Lama has been in exile for 50 years and has still not returned back to Tibet. Since 1959, Chinese troops have violently killed many Buddhist Tibetans who have peacefully protested against them. The Dalai Lama has ordered that no guns or weapons is to be used by the Tibetan’s as it goes against the Buddhist teachings. 14. Female Suicide Bomber During the Lebanese Civil War, Sana’a Mehaidli blew herself up at the age of 17. She is believed to have been the first female suicide bomber and is known as "the Bride of the South". "I am very comfortable with carrying out this operation.
