Homework Policy I believe homework is important because it is a valuable aid in helping students make the most of their experience in school. I give homework because it is useful in reinforcing what has been learned in class, it teaches responsibility, and it helps develop positive study habits.
Homework PolicyContinued… Homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday nights. The majority of homework will be in the subjects of math and reading. In addition to nightly homework I encourage you to read to your child every evening.
Student’s Homework Responsibilities I expect students to put forth their best effort on their homework assignments, and that all assignments be turned in the following day.
Teacher’s Homework Responsibility I will check all homework assignments daily. Feedback will be given to the students and the parents if necessary.
Parent’s Homework Responsibility Parents are the key to making homework a positive experience for their children. Establish a daily routine that is consistent and supportive. Please contact me if you are experiencing problems.
If Students Do Not Complete Homework If students do not complete their homework it will be noted in their daily communication folder. If students continuously miss assignments, parents will be contacted directly. Students will be expected to complete their homework during their recess of the day the assignment was due. If there is a legitimate reason why a student is not able to finish homework, please send me a note on the day the homework is due stating the reason it was not completed. This note must be signed by the parent.
