The Ribbon - Tabs, Groups, Commands Tabs Commands Groups Tabs: The Ribbon is made up of different tabs, each related to specific kinds of work you do in Excel.Groups: Each tab has several groups that show related items together. Different Types of slides • PowerPoint has pre-formatted basic slides you can add by clicking New Slide button: • Title & Content • Title Slide • Two Content • Title Only • Blank • Duplicate Selected Slides University of San Diego, Academic Tech Services iTeam - iteam@sandiego.edu, ext. 7400
Importing Existing slides • Click the New Slide button and select Reuse Slides. • Use the Open New File button to open file from where you want to import. • Click on a slide you want, click Insert, and it’ll be imported after the current slide. • Option: Keep design of original slides. Printing slides, notes, handouts • When you print, you have several options: • Handout pages (put 1-9 slides per page) • Full Page slides • Notes pages (1 slide & notes) • Outline (main points per slide) • You can print certain slides instead of the entire presentation! Formatting text on slides • Basic formatting is available when you write text: • Bold, Italic, Underline, Shadow, ChangeFontSize, Color • You can center text • You can indent text without using a list or bullets. • PowerPoint will automatically RESIZE your text based on the size of the text box on the slide.
