Note about NDAs Non-Disclosure Agreements • Typically aren’t needed for a first visit • The company will bring this up • Signed by the Office of Research and covers everyone • Faculty need to be reminded if there is an NDA in place
Expect the Unexpected You can’t control weather, technology, people - it is how you handle it that matters Dry run with tech - especially with video, sound, etc.
Follow Up: Internal vs External • Thank you and brief recap with next steps outlined (within 24 hours) • Make follow-up easy for the organization
Avoid Pitfalls • Briefing/preparation • Don’t expect them to navigate campus • Space walkthrough • A/V Check • List of phone numbers
Our Advice • Be flexible - they will reschedule, need to take a conference call, etc. • Leverage existing course times, student organization meetings, etc. • Communicate in all directions • Ask guests to arrive on campus 15 minutes early
