The High Cost of CONTAMINATION Oil Contaminated Refrigerant costs you MONEY in more ways than one!
As you know, • Your industrial chiller is probably the single most expensive piece of equipment to operate in your facility. • BUT, DID YOU ALSO KNOW….
….that same chiller is probably the biggest ENERGY WASTER that you own!
The main reason your chiller wastes so much energy is because of contaminated refrigerant. Your chiller's refrigerant becomes contaminated with lubricating oil during the compression cycle in the cooling process. The refrigerant becomes ‘diluted’ with oil and looses it’s effectiveness.
Small amounts of lube oil are continually absorbed by the refrigerant whenever the chiller is operating. This contamination process is on-going and unavoidable. For every 1% of oil contamination in the refrigerant, 3% chiller efficiency is lost.
It is common to find 10% to 15%contamination in the average Industrial Chiller. That means a loss of 30% to 45% efficiency!
But…. The cooling load required of the oil contaminated chiller remains the same.
So, Your Chiller WORKS HARDER, Consuming MORE ENERGY, Requiring MORE MAINTENANCE. COSTING YOU MONEY IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE.
The old way was expensive • In the past, the only remedy for an OIL-LOGGED Chiller was to: • Shut the chiller down for maintenance, COSTING YOU MONEY • THEN…..
You must drain, distill, and filter the refrigerant charge, COSTING YOU MONEY Refill the Chiller and replace any lost Refrigerant, COSTING YOU MONEY THEN…
The worst part… • At start-up,the contamination process begins again, • COSTING YOU EVEN MORE MONEY
By the way, your chiller is intended to be a closed system. Once it is 'opened' for maintenance, additional problems will occur. With the OAM Purger your Chiller remains a closed system. The OAM Purger operates continually, independent of the chiller, with no pumps
How it Works… • The OAM Purger's oil separation and refrigerant cleaning is accomplished by repeatedly extracting batches of oil-contaminated refrigerant (approximately 10 to 20 pounds, per each cycle) from the chiller evaporator.
The oil-contaminated refrigerant is then heated by a distillation heater, which causes the liquid refrigerant to vaporize (boil-off), distilling out the contaminating lubrication oil.
When the temperature of the accumulated distilled oil reaches a temperature of 68 degrees Celsius, it is essentially pure oil. It is then automatically returned to the chiller's oil reservoir and the cleaning process begins again, automatically, 24 hours a day as long as it is plugged in weather or not the Chiller is operating.
Problem Solved with theOAM Purger! • Once cleaned, your refrigerant never has the opportunity to be oil contaminated again. • Thanks to the OAM Purger, your chiller will operate at the highest level of efficiency possible, saving you money, month after month, year after year
All major Industrial Chiller manufacturers recommend and distribute products like The OAM Purger. York, Trane, McQuay, and others recognize the desperate need for a machine such as this to maintain peak chiller efficiency.
Here is the good news! • The money you are already spending to maintain your refrigerant, coupled with the money your oil-logged chiller is wastingwill pay for the OAM Purger in as little 3 months, and continue to save you thousands month after month for years to come.
Questions to ask yourself • How often does your Industrial Chiller's refrigerant require cleaning and oil separation maintenance? • How much MONEY, and VALUABLE RESOURSES is being wasted by your OIL LOGGED CHILLER? • How much would 30% energy savings per Chiller mean to you?
How will you know it is working? • You will see a reduction in energy consumption for that chiller. In two weeks or so the OAM Purger will clean the refrigerant charge to a trace of contaminating oil and KEEP IT CLEAN. • Take a refrigerant sample for analysis prior to installing the OAM Purger, and another sample in 2 to 3 weeks. The results of the analysis will prove the machine is doing it’s job! • Your chiller will require less frequent maintenance and last longer because it doesn’t have to work as hard.
