VOA (Voice of America) • the most famous of the 19 radio stations of the U.S.A. for the expansion of propaganda to foreign countries. • It is in Washington, and was established in 1924. • Now it has 16 broadcasting stations, sending news to the whole world in 41 languages day and night. • It comes under the leadership of the American International Communication Bureau.
3. Bad effects of TV A. Violence and crime in the U.S. are partly due to the influence of TV. B. Entertainment programs are full of killing, sex excitement, fighting and other violent actions. C. Such programs have a harmful effect on the attitudes and behavior of young people.
4. The world’s first communication space satellite A. The “Early Bird” was launched in 1965. B.
