Active CASPP Program Areas • STD/HIV prevention (DESE) • Contract to provide STD/HIV training on the Making Proud Choices Curricula • Specifically with DYS, juvenile justice center and alternative school staff • Regional Programs needed • Current summer programs scheduled for Columbia, Jackson, St. Louis and Springfield (see flyer)
Active CASPP Program Areas • MVRM • Children’s Division Grant to provide services to Stay At Home Mothers under the age of 21. • Currently serving four counties • Butler, Ripley, Stoddard and Harrison • No Extension involvement known • Kansas City (Diane Milne)
Adolescent Family Life Grant • DHHS has grant opportunity to fund care programs for mothers under the age of 19. • Similar to MVRM, with more emphasis on fathers and family system.
Active CASPP Program Areas • Pregnancy Prevention • Columbia • Marion County (Sherry Nelson) • South East Missouri (Mary, Mary and Phyllis)
Active CASPP Program Areas • Healthy Marriage Initiative • 15 Extension Specialist trained in PREP • St. Louis Healthy Marriage Group partnering with HDFS & 4-H on youth relationship building component • Kansas City consortium working with Nina Chen on funding three positions including youth, BSF & Relationship Enhancement
Healthy Marriage Initiative • Springfield metropolitan area very active with minimum Extension involvement. • Several Extension field staff expressed an interest in working in this area • Campus considering the option of a state-wide grant proposal that will include all of the above.

Allowable Activities • Public advertising campaigns on the value of marriage and the skills needed to increase marital stability and health. • Education in high schools on the value of marriage, relationship skills, and budgeting. • Pre-marital education and marriage skills training for engaged couples and for couples or individuals interested in marriage.
Allowable Activities • Marriage education, marriage skills, and relationship skills programs, that may include parenting skills, financial management, conflict resolution, and job and career advancement, for non-married pregnant women and non-married expectant fathers.
Allowable Activities • Marriage enhancement and marriage skills training programs for married couples. • Divorce reduction programs that teach relationship skills. • Marriage mentoring programs which use married couples as role models and mentors in at-risk communities. • Programs to reduce the disincentives to marriage in means-tested aid programs, if offered in conjunction with any activity described above.

Adolescent Parenting • Three curricula available for programs on parenting adolescents. • Research is clear that teens want their sexuality education from the parents. • Fostering good communication and positive parenting style is correlated with positive decision making, especially on sexuality issues.
Curricula • Comprehensive overview of prevention curricula with two groups (local and state) • Very few of the prevention programs that work curricula include a parent component. • Possible area of research and development.
