Strategic Guidelines • A Web-based Enterprise Level solution • Single point for all permitting requests (New Utilities Permits and Work Plans for Preconstruction Projects) • Capacity to Integrate within GDOT • All permit processes • Spatially Interactive GIS Mapping System • Existing and Future Construction Project Information • Historical and Road Characteristic Data • Allow Customers to Conduct Electronically via Internet: • Application for permits • Review and update application before submitting • Statewide Standardization • Interaction in the permitting process
Objectives • Reduce time/requirements to complete the application process • Allow various internal Departments to work on permitting requests simultaneously • Automatically cross-check proposed construction with current and planned construction projects, already within DOT’s system • Query historical records by location and/or applicant to create required reports
Objectives • Accept electronic maps, which identify proposed work location • Accept electronic CAD construction drawings • Automatically track moneys paid to state, per given time frame, county and applicant • Has Potential to Accept Credit card payments via the Web site using SSL for secured transactions
Objectives • All utilities/private applicants must have access to permitting application process • Provide DOT design criteria to applicant • Electronically generated approved permits at customer site • Provide electronic signatures for security
Objectives • Enable applicant to work off line, save application and re-access the application until it is submitted to DOT for approval • Make application accessible to several people within the applicant’s organization. • Provide project/application-tracking features for agency
Objectives • Acts as a communications tool to applicant – i.e. Approval to be granted, if applicant agrees to special provisions outlined • Provide automatic pop-ups which request user acknowledgement before he/she may continue with the application process • Provides view-only of past permit applications for authorized users
Objectives • Submit emergency permits after work has been completed • Accept applicant construction updates (Use on Construction Revisions), after DOT reviews and approves • Evaluate bond requirements per application
Future Scope • Global Implementation • Integrate GIS • Right of Way Management
