OZONE FACTS • The estimate for the air is 80% healthier within the next 10 years. • when the air feels thick means there is ozone in the air. • If ozone is 193 or higher it could cause heart problems.
AirPollution • the state can not afford to wait for the government to protest for it’s citizens danger to nitrogen oxide pollution. • Air pollution causes millions of asthma attacks each year in the U.S. • but the level of nitrogen oxide has increased by 20% over the last 30 year.
MORE FACTS • since the clean air act was adopted in 1970 , our nation has made great strides for reducing harmful pollutants from our air such as sulfur dioxide. • people with asthma and hay fever should not go outside with high percent of ozone in the air.
POWER PLANTS FACTS • Most of the coal-fired power plants are located in the eastern half of the country. • 21% of nitrogen comes from power plants. • power plants make air pollution and air pollution makes acid rain.
