DIY Tutorial : Get Yourself A Cute Striped Formal Pencil Skirt For Office Seriously, who would’ve thought men’s wear could serve any purpose to us women? This is one of best transformations you will ever see. It’sfun to make this as well as it’s even more fun to wear it to work! This striped formal pencil skirt could be your go to office wear. Step by Step DIY for your Formal Pencil Skirt: To begin with, use a stiff shirt, really sturdy and thick. This wouldn’t work too well with a shirt that is thin and fine. It won’t lay right and the fit would look imperfect. The shirt that was used here was a men’s medium size. •Choose a skirt to use a pattern. Here, a straight skirt has been used. You can use any length and rise, but the skirt used here is medium. •Cut off the collar, horizontally. Cut the north of the collar buttons just before the collar band
•Press the center back pleat out flat and mark your centers. •To cut the back out, lay it flat with the center back becoming the fold of the fabric. Put your skirt on top and cut around it
•For the front, lay the shirt front out flat and put the skirt on top and cut. •Place the shirt front pocket in a good place and cut off the bottom off the shirt to make the skirt as long as possible. •Now cut out the waistband using the scraps from the shirt. And use a white cloth to line the waistband. •Sew down a horizontal like where you want your placket to stop.
