Project Manager’s Report • Action Plan Development • Goal 1—Access and Appreciation • TPL Access Plan Presentation Today • Draft Access and Appreciation Section Prepared • Team to Consider Endorsing TPL Access Plan in June Meeting • Goal 2—Supports Uses and Economic Activities • Expert Meeting Held on April 28 • Group reviewed objectives and notes and developed input on draft action steps • Group suggested input on project priorities • Briefing on Expert Team Input planned for June

Project Manager’s Report • Action Plan Development—con’t • Goal 3—Physical/Ecological Restoration • Expert Team met and discussed approach for the action plan • Recommendations from the Expert Team: • Endorse the Strategic Science Plan; do not duplicate it • Simplify the objectives (percentages and years typically have no basis) • Identify actions that the BBRRCT can implement • Revised draft objectives are being developed • Will be presented in June or July meeting • Draft Physical/Ecological Restoration Section will be drafted for BBRRCT review

  5. Project Manager’s Report • Project Updates • Presentations planned over the next few months • TPL on Biscayne Bay Access Plan • PMC on Strategic Science Plan • Citizen’s for a Better South Florida on Environmental Education Alliance • Summary update on legislatively funded projects

Project Manager’s Report • Project Recommendations • Team is requesting to update priority project list • Reality of Team’s Role—Charter • Team serves in an advisory role • Coordinate with entities involved in coordinating scientific/research efforts • Team does not serve as a direct granting agency • Organizations are responsible for securing funding to support their mission, plan and projects • Team has the power of influence to garner support for projects

Project Manager’s Report • Project Recommendations • Update of priority project list will be a future agenda item • Team should consider certain guiding principles • Readiness for Implementation (project scope, staff, administration, cashflow) • Construction or Turn Dirt Projects • All possible sources for funding • Input from Implementors • Consistency with Team’s draft objectives • Upcoming presentations will help Team focus on priority projects
