MCP: Front of Class Set Up 1. Three Part Objective 2. Working Vocabulary 3. Agenda / Criteria for Success 4. Essential Question 5. Reflection 6. STAAR Example
Three Part Objective • Off of the dry erase board to save writing space • Some type of “product” should be included, see MCP for list of different products • Teacher and students should interact with TPO everyday (TPO should not just be a decoration)
Working Vocabulary • Vocabulary words that the students and teachers will use throughout the lesson • Definition of vocabulary words is not required to be on the board, teacher preference
Agenda / Criteria for Success (CFS) • Agenda: What the students are doing for the day • Criteria for Success: How the students will be successful on the agenda item • ELPS Strategy Focus: “L” “S” “R” “W”
Essential Question • Overall, big-idea question that you want your students to be able to answer at the end of the day’s lesson • No set place or time in the lesson to discuss the question, teacher may address at anytime
Reflection • Real World • Learner Centered • Entire question and set up may not fit on board, this is okay
Reflection - Example • The TajMahal is a famous representation of Arabic architecture. Many of the buildings in Washington D.C., including the White House, are representations of Greek and Roman architecture. Which style has a greater reliance on right triangles and which do you prefer? • Quick Write
STAAR • How might this fact, topic, concept, principle, or theory be used in a STAAR level question? • Exposure and transfer is the key • Entire question does not have to be on board • Does not have to be an official TEA released item. Could be teacher written, from a text, etc.
