New Arrangements for TSA 2012 • P6 TSA will be suspended in 2012 • Schools may choose to take part in P6 assessment on a voluntary basis and make use of the marking and reporting services of the HKEAA (Option A); or ask for printed copies of Question-answer Booklets for Oral & CAV and Written Assessments (Option B)
New Arrangements for TSA 2012 • Interested schools are requested to submit their opt-in forms for P6 assessment to the HKEAA no later than 16 December 2011 • Arrangements relating to P6 TSA from 2012 to 2014 will not affect the current arrangements for P3
Option A (Require Marking & Reporting Services) • This can be done on subject basis • The arrangement is similar to previous P6 TSA • For administrative convenience, schools are required to follow the assessment timetable and the guidelines detailed in the “Quick Guide” to conduct the Oral & CAV and Written Assessments • An Assessment Administration Assistant will be appointed to assist the AAS to conduct the assessments
Option A (Require Marking & Reporting Services) • Schools are required to submit their data and select special arrangements online for their P6 students through the BCA website • Schools are only required to return the worked booklets of selected subject(s) to the HKEAA after the assessments • Marking and reporting services will be provided by the HKEAA
Option A (Require Marking & Reporting Services) • As this is not a territory-wide system assessment participated by all P6 students, no system level data will nor can be provided • The school report will only contain the overall performance of P6 students of the respective participating school • The school report will be available online by the end of 2012
Option B (Require Printed Copy of Question-answer Booklets) • This can also be done on subject basis • The printed booklets will be delivered by the authorised courier of the HKEAA to schools according to the TSA operation timetable 2012 as detailed in the TSA Quick Guide
TSA 2012 Operation Timetable • Online submission of school data until 16 December 2011 • HKEAA will inform schools the Oral & CAV assessment date and duties of Oral Examiners on 8 March 2012 • Cutoff date for updating school and student data for Oral & CAV Assessments and barcode label printing - 23 March 2012
TSA 2012 Operation Timetable • Deadline for updating student information (including special arrangement) - 11 May 2012 • All PM session schools will have their Oral & CAV assessments on 3 May (P3) and/or 10 May 2012 (Participating voluntarily in P6)

Submission of School Data • Password will only be required to change every 180 days • Password combination: 8 to 12 characters with numbers and letters • “Forgot Password”function is not applicable to TSA administrator account. Complete a form to ask for password re-issue if necessary

Submission of School Data 2. Student Information (Student Batch Upload) • Step 1 • Get SAMS / WEBSAMS data query if necessary • Extract student data from SAMS / WEBSAMS • Save all P3 and P6 student information in 1 text (.txt) file • Step 2 • Upload the text (.txt) file
Submission of School Data 2. Student Information (Student Batch Upload) If schools are not using SAMS / WEBSAMS, they can prepare an Excel file with the following data structure and convert the Excel file into unicode text file (文字檔 .txt)
Confirm if the number of student records is correct Submission of School Data 2. Student Information (Student Batch Upload) • If there are students rejected, their STRN may be wrong (e.g. mixed up with others) or they were registered in another school • Report the latter case to HKEAA by completing the Student Data Amendment (SDA) Form. We will follow-up for you.

Submission of School Data 4. Medium of Assessment • If schools are taking the default language (i.e. Cantonese in Chinese Oral, Listening and CAV and Chinese in Mathematics) as the medium of assessment of all P3 and P6 classes, they can skip this part
