  2. What is Auto Replenishment? AR/WS files designate ward stock items which will be dispensed from ward stock (Omnicell/Pyxis). These items will be shown as ward stock on the daily picklist for medication cart fills.

  3. PICK LISTUnit Dose The pick list is printed daily and contains: • List of med orders • Number of dosage units needed for 24 hours for those items not WS. • Items not to be filled • Ward Stock (WS) • Refill on request

  4. Ward Stock • Ward stock is site specific and depends on many factors: • Using Medication Carts • Omnicell/ Pyxis in use • 24/7 Pharmacy coverage

  5. Items often designated Ward Stock: Insulin Narcotics Premixed IVPB’s

  6. Fill on Request Some orderable items are Fill on Request MDI Topicals

  7. Pick List Parameters • Parameters for the pick list are configured in the Supervisor’s menu. • 24 hour period, ie, 14:01 to 14:00 of next day. • Run by Ward Group or by each ward. • Printer that will be used

  8. Ward Groups • Configured in the Supervisor’s menu of the Unit Dose package. • Uses ward locations already in system • A group of several wards can be used to print reports and the pick lists rather than each ward separately.

  10. Creating Areas of Use (AOU) Items are designated Ward Stock using areas of use. Area of use may be a ward or another area such as a treatment room. Setting up the AR/WS filesAOU

  11. Stock Files • Determine which items will be ward stock • Decide where (AOU) • Each item to be designated WS is entered into the stock items file.
