Lead Student Responsibilities
Ensure that all students complete the registry when entering the IAC
Ensure that all students complete the exit interview when departing the IAC
Ensure that lead/active/inactive status information on students is current
Lead Student Query should be used to update status info each semester
Active/Inactive student status
New item: feedback info with deactivated students (without exit interviews) allows Lead to identify reason for departure and update contact information
Lead Student(s) appropriately identified
15. IAC Student Meeting – February 2005 Student Travel and Professional Conferences We have FY2005 funds to cover travel costs for students to attend professional conferences, meetings and training
Criteria:
4 trips/school, including the Student Meeting
Priority given to students presenting papers or speaking at major, relevant conferences approved by DOE
BestPractices Qualified Specialist and End User training is eligible
All IAC student travel arrangements will be handled by ORNL

16. IAC Student Meeting – February 2005 Student Travel and Professional Conferences
Travel procedure highlights:
Director makes initial request to ORNL; either ad hoc or following a conference announcement
Student completes paperwork, Director signature is required
Student info entered into ORNL travel system (by ORNL) and student works with ORNL travel agent to select itinerary
Expense reports for items not pre-paid by ORNL are submitted by students within 2 weeks following the trip
Processing time: 2 weeks minimum for citizens; 3 weeks for foreign students
Students can expedite the process (and save IAC $$) by completing the paperwork and contacting ORNL travel agents in a timely manner
