  2. DPH IT Management • Lois Bryant • Oversees PHIN related activities and PHIN team. PHIN IT applications hosted at DOIT. • Vanessa Kapral • Oversees DPH located infrastructure and development/application activities and teams and applications hosted at DPH.

  3. DPH PHIN Platform • Established under MOU December 2004. • Unix/Oracle and Windows/SQL platforms in place. • CT Electronic Disease Surveillance System first on Oracle platform, followed by CT Immunization Registry. • PHIN Messaging System first on Windows/SQL platform. • DPH mandated to “upgrade” surveillance applications to meet new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other federal requirements. • DPH-DOIT PHIN IT Working Group in place.

SDM at DPH • Governance procedures presented to DPH Executive Leadership Team (ELT) May 3, 2007. • Included IT Strategic Plan (Lois Bryant). • Governance example by Len Smith (DCF). • Assessment of current applications (criticality, EWTA compliance, IT support). • Overview of SDM presented to DPH Executive Leadership Team on November 29, 2008 by Lois and Vanessa. • DPH PHIN is using “pure” SDM for large projects; modified for smaller.

Applications pending PHIN platform migration • EVVE = Electronic Verification of Vital Events • NAPHSIS required • Pending call with vendor (NAPHSIS contracted) • Childhood Lead Poisoning • Current system at DPH unsupported • To be built into CT EDSS/CT EPHTN system • Newborn Screening • Split system: DOIT piece unsupported as of 9/08; DPH piece needs updating • To be built into CT EDSS/CT EPHTN system • CYSHCN = Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs • Assessment pending; functionality overlaps with Child Health Profile

  9. Communication • ELT to receive monthly updates on PHIN IT projects. • Format to include SDM information, timelines, etc. • First update January 2008.
