I have to thank all of you for being diligent in having your child read or be read to at home. This is the fastest and most effective way you can encourage your child to fall in love with reading. The kids are doing fabulous! Please make sure you are practicing those sight words and working on writing those numbers 1-10! I will be sending home a form to sign up for first report card conferences. Be on the look out! PLEASE CHECK OUR SCHOOLWIRES SITE!!!! IT HAS A LOT OF INFO THERE!! A Note from Your Teacher: REMINDER • I will need a couple of rolling coolers for the field trip-let me know if you can bring one for us, or with you, to the farm! z
Homework and Behavior • Homework Heroes • Choose five per week • Have parent initial when complete • These heroes will get a treat at the end of the nine weeks!! • Bring in your favorite toy Friday and ‘e’xplain why it is the best!_________ • Talk about Charlotte’s web (by EB White) with your mom or dad-_____________ • Count the stuffed animals in your room and then count the shoes in your closet and tell which is greater and which is less______ • Google ‘e’lephant with your parent and find 3 FACTS to share with your class__________ • Read your favorite Fairy Tale and tell about the beginning, the middle, and the ending____ • Tell how you would change the ending of the Fairy Tale and make it different than the author’s idea____________ • Count how many days are in September__________ • Write a letter to me and put in an envelope and write your address on the front and bring to school__________________ Next week OGHS vs. Petal is the Tackle Hunger Food Challenge Game of the Week. We are encouraged to bring a canned good to be donated to the Edwards Street Food Pantry. All who participate may wear spirit shirts on the Friday of the ball game.
