  2. Read the information about Maitha. Then answer the questions below. Maitha was born in Dubai in 1990 but moved with her family to Al-Ain when she was 5 years old. She has lived in Al-Ain since then. She has been to Salalah in Oman for a short holiday but she has not visited any other country. How long has Maitha lived in Al-Ain? Does she still live in Al-Ain now? How many countries has she visited in her life? 17 years Yes 1

  3. The present perfect is used for describing events that started in the past and continue until now. Maitha was born in Dubai in 1990 but moved with her family to Al-Ain when she was 5 years old. She has lived in Al-Ain since then. now has lived ? 1995

  4. The present perfect is also used for describing life experiences with no specific time mentioned. She has been to Salalah in Oman for a short holiday but she has not visited any other country. (in her life so far) now 1990 has been to Salalah has not visited any other country

  9. Time words with present perfect simple. just I have just finished my homework. Now I can read my story book. already I have already seen the movie. yet I have not seen the movie yet. for I have lived in Al-Ain for 2 years. since I have lived in Al-Ain since 2010. recently I have recently moved to Al-Ain. so far I have missed one class so far this semester. We do notuse past time words with the present perfect simple. He has visited Oman last night/yesterday/last week.

  10. Use of ‘already’ with the present perfect Already is used to talk about something that happened earlier than expected. When do you want to see the movie? I have already seen it!

  11. Use of ‘yet’ with the present perfect “Yet’ means something that we expect has happened or hasn’t happened. It is usually used in questions or negative sentences. Have you seen the movie yet? No , I haven’t seen it yet. Yes. I have seen it yet.

Use of ‘for’ and ‘since’ with the present perfect for + a period or length of time (from start to end) e.g. for 2 years, for a long time, for 3 months, for 8 hours I have lived in Al-Ain for 2 years. since + a point in time (up till now) e.g. sinceTuesday, since last week, since I was born, since we were young I have lived in Al-Ain since 2010.
