SECTIONING It is the process of representing the interior feature or structure of an object.
Used to clarify interior or hidden details on a multi-view drawing of an object.
Cutting Plane • It is used to indicate the location of an imaginary cut through the object.
CUTTING PLANE LINE It is a line defining the exact location where the component will cut into a face.
SECTION VIEW • It is an orthographic view that shows the interior features of an object as visible lines.

Used to show surfaces that have been cut in the section view Section lining is the symbolic representation of surfaces used to indicate the material used in producing the object or the finish given to the surface of the object. SECTION LINES
1.) Section lines should be thinner than visible lines (.2). 2.) Section lines within a sectioned area must be parallel. 3.) Always draw section lines at 45 degrees to the horizontal. Rules in Drawing Section Lines
5.) Space section lines between 2 to 5 mm apart depending on the size of the drawing. 6.) When two or more parts in a section are adjacent, use section linings in opposing directions.

FULL SECTION • Is a section view formed by passing a cutting plane entirely through an object to reveal all of its interior features.
HALF SECTION • This type of sectioning simply requires that a quarter of the object be removed to expose the interior features of the part.
BROKEN-OUT SECTION • It is a type of sectioning wherein it often happens that only a partial section of view is needed to expose interior shape and it is limited by break line.
REVOLVED SECTION • It is a type of sectioning wherein the shape of the cross section of a bar, arm, or other elongated object may be shown in longitudinal view.
REMOVED SECTION • A removed section is a section or partial section not directly projected from the view containing the cutting plane and not revolved or turned from its normal orientation.
OFFSET SECTION • It is a type of sectioning wherein the irregular object is often desirable to show the features that do not lie in straight line.
ALIGNED SECTION • It is a type of section wherein it is similar to off-set sectional view. • It is used true projection would confusing for ribs and holes
