Conclusion (Buyers) • It’s apparent that the current financial situation had less impacts on the buyers from the emerging markets. • Visiting trade fairs still remained as an effective channel for locating quality suppliers under the current economic situation. • HK trade fairs were regarded as the best venues to source quality and value-for-money products. • HKTDC Fairs were considered as “must attend” trade fairs. • Over 99% of participants were satisfied with the April Mega Fairs. 24

Conclusion (Buyers) • 68% of buyers believed that the current global economic crisis would begin to subside within 18 months. • Over 60% of buyers would increase or maintain their sourcing activities from / through HK under current economic crisis. • 96% of buyers would increase or maintain their sourcing pattern with / through HK once the crisis subsides. 25

Conclusion (Exhibitors) • Nearly 50% of exhibitors had received order(s) from new customer(s) during HKTDC Mega Fairs. • Over 60% of exhibitors believed that the current global economic crisis would begin to subside within 18 months. • 79% of exhibitors would increase or maintain their focus on the China & Asia markets under the current economic crisis. • 82% of local exhibitors also indicated that they would place more focus on China & Asia markets under the current economic crisis. 26
