Tutors Activities • Participants: Avril Shribman, Tzippi Katz, Carole Streifler, ShulyTrabelsi, Janene Reich, Rebecca Goren, Maytal Kurt, Viviana Resnick, Lara Illos and EinatHazak. • The tutors had the opportunity to work with small groups or in a one-on –one setting. • Those who visited regularly, had meaningful encounters with struggling learners and gained insight in the complexities of effective basic skills education.
Activities at the College • Both the YRF staff and the Tutors participated in two workshops on designing games. • The Tutors prepared and digitally designed a set of games on the tenses in English which will be used at the Freed Center and posted on BEAR.
Reflection • We have enjoyed the opportunity to participate in an initiative to reach out to the community of learners in Ramla • We are grateful for having been exposed to ‘reality’ and having obtained some initial experience of working with struggling learners • Working in such a non-threatening environment and with teachers who never give up has been an amazing experience
