During the process of this software development, developers used extremely powerful technologies to address all the possibilities. ORNL’s 27-petaflop Titan supercomputer and the National Institute for Computational Sciences’ Nautilus system was used for conducting simulations of several buildings and to run simulations for a half million buildings, in less than an hour, generating data of around hundreds of terabytes. Besides, the developers propose that the model calibration using ‘autotune’ will not only be precise, but also speedy and less costly as compared to manual calibration.
