2. “ ‘No. They even leave the money in the cash register so they won’t have to . . . .’ he bit his lip(3).” • One conflict in the book is where Alfred told the gang that the store don’t empty the cash register after sundown on Friday because they are really religious and the gang broke into the store and the gang plus James got locked up. Alfred didn’t mean to have them rob the store, and he didn’t want his friend to be locked up.

3. He forgot how small it was. He could barely sit up(8) • This conflict is about when Alfred was hiding in a cave wondering when James was going to show up then Alfred got out and started walking home and he ran into Major, and Hollis. They beat Alfred up because he didn’t tell them about the new alarm in the store.

4. “ He woke up in his Aunt’s bed. Blinking against the white glare of the morning sun.”{13} In this conflict Alfred is ready beat up in his Aunt’s bed. He couldn’t really move his eye was closed shut . He told his aunt that he fell off a old stone fence. But she knew what really happen.

5. “ have you ever boxed?” “no” “I can see that you been fighting on the streets” said Donatelli(22) In this conflict Alfred went to the gym to talk to Mr.Donatelli about joining the gym. Mr.Donatelli told him that a man must have some fear but you got to learn to control it

6. “ he stopped at the mouth of the alley, and he took a deep breath. What am I, James shadow or something? I don’t need him. But he marched to the basement steps, and he plunged down into the clubroom. ”
