  2. Software tools make things easy and fast for an engineer. This presentation focus the important and essential software tools which should be learned in mechanical engineering.

  3. List of software in Mechanical engineering • AutoCAD • Pro/Engineer • C Language • ANSYS

  4. AutoCAD • AutoCAD is a fundamental CAD software used for designing and draftinging. • Its commands and options allow to draw objects of any size and shape. • AutoCAD can be used todraw two-dimensional (2D) drawings, three-dimensional (3D) models, and animations. • It is a universal CADD software that is applicable to any engineering discipline.

  5. Pro Engineer • Pro Engineer is incorporated with complete package of drawing, modelling and analysis. • It can be used to draw 2D drawing, 3D models and an assembly. • It is also included with 2D CAD, 3D CAD, Data exchange like IGES and other formats, dynamics publishing, engineering calculations, Visualization and mock up etc.

  6. C Programming Language • C language has great importance in Mechanical Engineering while learning computational subjects and numerical methods. • C is one of the best programming language as it requires less memory and it is easy to learn.

  7. ANSYS • Finite Element Method (FEA) deals with approx. numerical solutions of problems including structural, thermal, fluid or fluid structure interface. • For problems of thermal and fluid, FLUENT and GAMBIT software are mostly preferred. • FLUENT is latest ANSYS version.

  8. Conclusion It is impossible to work or do research without using any software in the areas of Mechanical Engineering. Therefore learning of atleast one software is important.
