  4. Las cuevas de Altamira, en Cantabria, es uno de los yacimientos de pinturas más importantes del mundo. Fue descubierta de forma casual en 1879. En la cueva hay numerosas habitaciones y en cada una de ellas hay un tipo de representación, a veces dedicada en exclusiva a un animal. Por su tamaño y por la complejidad de sus pinturas, se cree que pudiera ser un santuario al que acudía la gente de zonas muy lejanas. CUEVAS DE ALTAMIRA
