  2. Objectives of Conference • For A*STAR research community to learn about the research work, expertise and resources at A*STAR • To explore collaboration opportunities, particularly at the interface of biomedical and physical sciences & engineering

  3. Guidelines for speakers • Your audience comprises BMRC and SERC researchers from diverse backgrounds and expertise, hence you are highly encouraged to: • Present at a level that is understandable to a wide ranging audience • Communicate across disciplines or areas, to persons who are not experts in your field • Avoid presenting content that only domain experts can understand • Consider possible collaboration opportunities across RIs and across Councils

  4. Presentation Guidelines • Length of presentation: 15 mins • Length of Q&A: 5 mins • Please adhere to the above time allocations as the conference runs on a tight schedule. Ample time is available during breaks for further discussion. • A good guideline to follow is 1 min per slide. • Please use this template for your presentation. You are encouraged to structure your presentation into 3 sections (see following slides for details).

  5. Header/subject title Part 1 - Introduction (2 - 3 mins) • Briefly describe the context for your research, specifying the aims and scientific significance

  6. Header/subject title Part 2 - Research Overview (7 - 9 mins) • Briefly describe your research plan, specifying the hypothesis, methods and results if applicable • Summarize the significance of your research findings or plan.

  7. Header/subject title Part 3 - Discussion (3 - 5 mins) • As far as possible, • Explore how your research may be extended to other domains, and/or • Describe what technical challenges you want to overcome in your research
