1. STAFFING PER PROGRAMME AND VACANCY RATE AS AT 30 JUNE 2016 Vacancy rate as at 30 June 2016 = 9.3% Representativity profile: SMS Female = 47% against a target of 50% People with Disabilities = 2% end of June 2016
2. EQUITY STATUS Race: Whites =4%,coloured =7%, Indian= 4% and African = 85% Males : 194 (51%) Female : 185 (49%) Disability Target: 2% Female SMS members = 47% against a target of 50%
3.1 Training Plan • The Directorate’s Training Plan for 2016/2017 financial year was developed and approved in May 2016. • The coordination as well as the procurement process commenced for implementation of the plan. This is done through engagement with service providers such as Justice College, University of Pretoria for the training of Investigators; and National School of Government (NSG) for training of Managers and Administration staff. (c) The targeted training roll out plan is as follows: • Quarter 1 and 2 = 96 officials (12 officials trained) • Quarter 3 = 44 officials • Quarter 4 = 10 officials (d) Priority programmes for Investigators: • Investigation & management of Cyber and electronic crime training ( targeted number of employees – 57) • Fraud Prevention and detection of corruption ( targeted number of employees – 57) • Resolving Crime 3. TRAINING STRATEGY: 2016/17 (1)
3.2 Engagements with SASSETA 3.2.1 Civilian Oversight Qualification ( NQF Level 5) in partnership with SASSETA and APCOF • Purpose of the collaboration is to develop a Civilian Oversight Qualification (NQF Level 5) for IPID Investigators ; • The project to be funded by SASSETA and facilitated by APCOF; • IPID will take care of all logistics ( venue for meetings and coordination of stakeholders, packaging of materials); • The qualification will be compatible to also be relevant to Civilian Secretariat and other civilian oversight bodies; • Learning material has been developed and submitted to QCTO for quality assurance and curriculum design and once approved the Qualification will be submitted to SAQA for accreditation. 3.2.2 Learnership • 51 learners identified for appointment in Programme 2 to be trained on forensic investigation and crime resolving and placed in provinces • The project is funded by SASSETA including the stipend for learners. 3.
