Services and Initiatives • Student Code of Rights and Responsibilities – peer mentors • Town and Gown • Women’s Safety Grant • Inclusivity training across the division • Inclusivity training partnership with YFS and the Centre for Human Rights for orientation activities • Partnership with CHR -“Can I Kiss You?”, Civil discourse • Guide to identifying and responding to students in crisis

Initiatives • Students of Concern Committee • VTRA – Kevin Cameron, Threat Assessment and Trauma Response • Faculty outreach • Staffing to identify and respond to students in distress • Training of Res Life and Don staff • SASSL/Housing/OSCR partnership for Safe House • Collaborative approach to incidents of violence • Promotion of safe, respectful discourse

Key Issues • On-going need to provide education and awareness for new community members • International students - transition • Increasing numbers of cases involving threats and harassment in the classroom • Seneca – York shared concerns • Subway, building access • Village and residence security • Visibility on campus of security

  6. Engaging students • Awareness - Social media, postering • SASSL, Women Trans group • Engaging – clubs, college councils, YFS, GSA • Get students involved - ambassadors
