  6. Our Situation Global Workday HCM deployed 21 different payroll providers globally Multiple payroll models (in-house and varying degrees of managed services) Multiple benefit providers Multiple time and attendance systems SSC’s live, but not fully stabilized

  7. The Desired Situation: • One system to support global footprint and regulatory compliance requirements • Target cost neutral over a three year time horizon, and long term cost reduction • Global reporting • Data standardization • Deploy best practices across payroll organization • Visibility to all data • Cross functional partnership between HR, Regions & Corporate

  10. Timeline Planning Evaluate competing projects Where are your big problems today? Big bang versus phased approaches Evaluate internal readiness and “buy-in” of key stakeholders Be realistic

Current Vendor Review • Collect all your current contracts • Expect some to be old or missing • Expect some to not be in English • Review termination clauses • Review current services being provided • Evaluate “Beyond Payroll” services that may be being provided • Communicate early to secure cooperation

Resource Planning Identify project manager(s) Identify oversight committee Identify owners for HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, etc. Evaluate current workload for available time Consider local holidays, vacations, cultural events Evaluate identified resources against desired timelines for capacity issues Consider third party help for any gaps and project assistance

Integration Planning • Identify current HR system state • Quality and completeness of data • Adherence to policy and processes • Local language considerations • Are processes local, global, custom, standard? • Consider phased approach: payroll then HR integration • Accept that integration isn’t “off the shelf”

  14. Lessons Learned Things often take longer then you think Data is usually not as clean as you hope Timelines will change Changing systems make people nervous Over communicate to all stakeholders Build partnerships, not competitions Investing in help pays off in the long run
