Security and Control: Retention Policy and Personal Archive Outlook and Exchange 2010 provide rich tools to manage content for corporate compliance and records management • Retention Policy • Allows users to apply policy based on content to folders and individual messages • Based on this metadata messages can be journaled or deleted at the appropriate timeframe • Personal Archive • An alternative to .PSTs, which allows server-side storage, enforcement of records management policies, and legal discovery • Messages can be moved manually to the Archive or automatically by applying metadata like Retention Policy • The Personal Archive is only available when connected to Exchange

Security and Control: Personal Archive and PSTs Outlook and Exchange 2010 provide rich tools to manage content for corporate compliance and records management • Outlook Web App has full support for Retention Policy and Personal Archive • Workflows using the Archive and Retention can be maintained on the go via the web browser • Disable Cross Account Copy • New registry key in Outlook 2010 which allows companies to better maintain control of their corporate data • Prevents users from copying mail to .PSTs or their Hotmail/Gmail account • Doesn’t affect the usage of POP/IMAP accounts • Copies to SharePoint are allowed (unless you specify otherwise)
