Aligning with Organizational Strategy • Vision: NFTE is the premiere youth entrepreneurship organization in the Bay Area. • Mission: Leveraging the entrepreneurial ecosystem unique to this region, NFTE Bay Area provides innovative entrepreneurship programs that inspire youth to stay in school, recognize business opportunities and be successful in the modern economy. • Initiatives: 1) Financial Security 2) Visibility 3) Innovation and Impact • Advisory Board Priorities, Benchmarks, Goals and Status:

Financial Security Initiative • Fund Development Initiative is now Financial Security • Initiative Lead TBD • Priority • Meet $715,000 revenue stretch goal • Benchmarks • Regionals corporate sponsorships, Earned Income opportunity and Events • Outlook • Large % of planned asks are renewals • Starting year in strong cash position • Discussion • Call for membership

Visibility Initiative • Core Program Initiative is now Visibility Initiative • Laurel Skurko, Initiative Lead • Goal • Increase visibility of NFTE among key stakeholders • Central Message • NFTE is the premiere youth entrepreneurship organization in the Bay Area, preparing youth from low-income communities with the entrepreneurial mindset necessary for success in the modern economy.

Visibility Initiative • Objectives, By Target: • Educators – 75 on-mission principals in districts in which we operate knows what NFTE stands for, figuratively and literally. • Entrepreneurs (“Tech” and “Other”) – About 100 new individuals know AND mention NFTE, resulting 10 mentions in press, in addition to other “buzz” • Insiders – Each member of the core team (Board, ECouncil, Leadership Council) identifies and executes on 1 visibility activity. • For Discussion: • Definition of visibility activity • Invite to participate

FY14 Visibility Work Plan • Goal: Increase visibility of NFTE among key stakeholders / “influencers” • Central Message: NFTE is the premiere youth entrepreneurship organization in the Bay Area, preparing youth from low-income communities with the entrepreneurial mindset necessary for success in the modern economy. • Mechanism: Direct outreach to our network (emails/meetings) of key stakeholders and asking them to help us spread the word further about NFTE. We will reach out to them via introductions made in course of daily business and via introductions by NFTE stakeholders (i.e. Board and Ecouncil members). • Target Audiences and objectives by 7/1/2015 • External Stakeholders: • Educators – Every on-mission principal (75) in a district in which we operate knows what NFTE stands for, figuratively and literally, 10% provide photo and quote. • 100% have had direct conversation with NFTE by 6/30/14 • Entrepreneurs – 100 leading Silicon Valley entrepreneurs learn what NFTE stands for, provide mention directly in press, photos/quotes that we can use, and or contacts for us to continue to spread the word. • 10 press mentions by 6/30/14 • Internal Stakeholders • Board Members - identifies and executes on 1 visibility stretch goal. • ECouncil Members - identifies and executes on 1 visibility stretch goal. • Specifics: How to add NFTE Visibility to your annual NFTE contribution goal – pending discussion • Use a scorecard (to track and report before each Board meeting between now and end-of-fiscal year Board meeting) • 200 additions to mailing list (associated with in-person meeting) • 100 educators • 75 school principals to know NFTE • 25 other educators • 100 entrepreneurs • 50 tech players • 50 other entrepreneurs • 20 of these help raise NFTE visibility via: • 10 press mentions • 90 “other” major word-of-mouth contributions (i.e. social media posts, word-of-mouth introductions, etc, TBD)
