  1. Renewable Energy Margadarshak the virtual varsity

  2. Akshaya tatha Anaparamparik Shakti By Dr. J. P. Nath Founder – margadarshak – the virtual knowledge varsity

  3. Harnessing the renewable energy

  4. Traditional Sources of Energy • Fossil Fuel- Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene etc. • Electricity – Hydel, Thermal etc. • Burning of Wood or coal.

  5. Need For Renewable Sources of Energy High rate of depletion of fossil fuel and natural gases. Over dependency on OPEC countries for fossil fuel. Limitations in Generation/Disribution of Electricity from Thermal Power & Major Hydro-electricity projects Traditional fuels are not eco-friendly.

  6. Alternate & Renewable Sources of Energy ? Biomass Energy : Biogas, Hydrogen fuel Solar Energy : Thermal & Photovoltaic Cell Wind Power Small Hydro-power in Hilly areas and over irrigation canals – Micro-hydel project. Tidal Energy Geothermal Energy Alternative Fuel for Surface Transportation BIODIESEL

  7. Mass-produced widely distributed PV arrays and wind turbines may eventually generate 10-30 TW emission-free
