International Cooperation in WP2013 ICT WorkProgamme 2013 (p.11) Three main objectives for international cooperation: (1) to jointly respond to major global technological challenges by developing interoperable solutions and standards, (2) to jointly develop ICT solutions to major global societal challenges, and (3) to improve scientific and technological cooperation for mutual benefit. In addition to access to additional research capability, international cooperation in the context of industrial research should have global consensus and standards as a main target

International Cooperation in WP2013 Obj.2013.1.2 c) Software Engineering, Services and Cloud Computing Support for global interoperability in software and services technologies, achieved through standardization and European and international cooperation. Obj.2013.1.3 c) Digital Enterprise One CSA supporting the international road mapping, research coordination and policy activities aimed at the acceleration of new forms of Internet-based Enterprise innovation throughout Europe.

International Cooperation in WP2013 Obj. 2013.1.4 c) Internet of Thingsfor Smart Cities One CSA covering: i) International road-mapping activity on the future of the Internet of Things about the integration of research results in various scientific and technological disciplines, including ICT, nanotechnology, biomedicine and cognitive Obj. 2013.9.4 c): International cooperation on FET research Open scheme, final deadline 12 March 2013 Goal: reinforced research cooperation between world-class EU and non-EU researcher; teams facilitating the emergence of global alliances; Attention: specific eligibility criteria and conditions!

International Cooperation in WP2013 Obj. 2013.10.2 EU-Brazil R&D Cooperation Topics: a) Cloud computing for Science b) Sustainable technologies for a Smarter Society c) Smart services and applications for a Smarter Society d)Hybrid broadcast-broadband TV applications and services Budget: EU side: 5 MEUR Brazil side: equivalent of 5 MEUR = max. 1.5 MEUR Funding request! (if more, INELIGIBLE! NO JOINT BUDGET!)

International Cooperation in WP2013 Obj. 2013.10.2 EU-Brazil R&D Cooperation Cont’d Special Rules: - Submission for EU partners in EU (EC), for Brazilian partners in Brazil (MCTI/CNPq) • Part B identical for EU and Brazil submission BUT: in Brazil in Portuguese, in the EU in English • Must contain a draft for a Coordination Agreement between both consortia including provision for exploitation and IPR • Max. 36 Months (if more, not eligible!) • Deadline: 12/12/2012 All presentations of Warsaw: http://ec.europa.eu/information_society/events/cf/ictpd12/item-display.cfm?id=8437

International Cooperation in WP2013 Obj. 2013.10.3 International partnership building and support to dialogues Activities: • Support of ICT dialogue • Strengthening of cooperative research links through the set-up of sustainable cooperative mechanisms • Reinforcement of industrial cooperation on ICT R&D • Increased co-ordination at EU level with horizontal Framework Programme instruments (INCO-NET, national programmes) Budget: 8 MEUR for 10 projects – 800KEUR/project 7 areas to cover, LA only one of the seven!

  9. Warsaw Proposers’ Day Conclusions Red Thread: Pave the way towards Horizon 2020! For International Cooperation: • Mutual benefits for Europeans! (We are in times of crisis!) • Activities that contribute to Horizon 2020: • High level sustainable partnerships, in particular in crucial areas (e.g. those identified for the EU-Brazil call) • Consolidation of existing tools, mechanisms etc. in view of H2020
