  2. What Are Student Domain Outcomes? • Document the impact of an activity or program. • Provide evidence that students knowledge, skills or behaviors have actually changed. • Answer the “So what?” question. • Useful in School Climate and Safety section. • Required in Student Results section.

  3. Tips for Reporting Student Domain Outcomes • Select the data that most clearly reflect the work of support personnel. • Don’t assume that readers will recognize the link between support personnel and the results data. • Clearly state how support personnel made an impact on the results.

  4. Common Ways of Reporting Student Domain Outcomes • Longitudinal Data – These illustrate a program’s effectiveness by showing improvement over time. • Before and After Data – These illustrate the impact of programs by looking at data before and after their implementation.

  5. Examples of Student Domain Outcomes • Graduation Rates Percent Improvement • Attendance Percent Improvement • Discipline Referrals Percent Decrease

  6. Longitudinal Data Example 1 Note: These data illustrate the effectiveness of individual counseling conferences with students scoring far below basic and with their parents. From Las Palmas Middle School SPARC 2008

  7. Longitudinal Data Example 2 Note: Many factors contribute to API improvement. This SPARC clearly identified support programs that relate to achievement data. They were school-wide test-taking guidance lessons, small group and individual conferences, interventions for struggling students, and motivational assemblies. From Clifton Middle School SPARC 2008

  8. Before & After Data Example 1 Note: These data illustrate the effectiveness of a recently implemented Positive Behavior Support Plan. In this case, longitudinal data actually became before and after data. From Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School SPARC 2008

  9. Before & After Data Example 2 Note: Before & after data illustrate the impact of an anger management group program From William J. “Pete” Knight High School SPARC 2008
