Before logging on to Survey Monkey • Understand that the College expects that users of the CSE Survey Monkey account respect others’ work. • Develop a title for your survey. • Prepare your introduction and survey questions. Refer to consent for minimal risk anonymous surveys http://www.cse.edu/dept/institutional-research/institutional-review-board/irb-forms.dot If you have a Word version of your survey, you can cut and paste very easily. Module 1: Getting Started • Log on to http://www.surveymonkey.com • In upper left hand side, click sign in • User name is CSEGraduatePrograms • Password: available from your faculty advisor • Click Create Survey • Give your survey a title: don’t worry about getting the “right” title; you can edit it at any time. For now, I will say “Feedback on Survey Monkey Podcasts”; don’t use “My survey” since you might find duplicates! Using the Professional Account of Survey Monkey Spring 2012
Inputting Your Introduction • Click Add question • Now select from among the question types • Select Descriptive Text • Develop or paste in your introduction. If you have received IRB approval for your survey, copy the introduction approved by the IRB. • Click Save Changes. Using the Professional Account of Survey Monkey Spring 2012
Bravo! • You have your introduction. • Go up to the right hand side and click Preview. • Do you like the blue and white color? • If not, get out of Preview by clicking Exit survey in the upper right and corner. • Now you can select from among the themes in the middle of the page. • That’s it for Module 1.
