Names of People in the Group

  5. Slide Two: Career Description • What the Career is (Job Description) • This includes a description of the career itself, skills or tasks that one performs in this career, and any additional information that you feel is relevant to this area.

  6. Slide Three: Education and Training • What level of schooling is necessary? • Are there any special tests or exams? (Examples: teachers need to pass a certification test; truck drivers need to have special driver’s licenses) • Are there any physical or personal requirements? (Examples: the ability to lift heavy loads; the ability to solve complex math equations)

  7. Slide Four: Skills and Tools • Tools and Software Required for Career • Required Skills • What skills does the career require? • Do you have to have these skills in order to have this career?

  8. Slide Five: Salary • What is the annual salary or hourly rate? • Does it stay the same or does it increase annually? • What is the least you could make? Most? • Does education make a difference in salary?

  9. Slide Six: Job Duties and Type of Work • What hours/days are required to work? • Is this a career that can be found in any city? • Is this work done inside or outdoors?

  14. 8th Grade Only Create What Your Career Creates • Create a piece of art related to the career you researched. • Create a Product that Your Career Would Create • Use Same Materials as Your Career • Use School Happenings to Inspire Art (ONLY IF NEEDED)

  15. Grading • 100- Research, PowerPoint Slide Show, and Class Presentation • Research 25- Evidence of Research All Research Topics Thoroughly Found and Presented • PowerPoint 25- Creating a PowerPoint Presentation • Presentation 50- Presenting Information to Class

  16. 8th Grade Only: Career Product • 100- Piece of Art Related to Career 50- Related to Career: Use of Materials If other materials are needed, i.e. software or camera, locate using outside the classroom resources. Many student level software and art related technology is available for download online. In addition, many tutorials on How-To can also be found online. 25- Craftsmanship Piece of art created well, techniques and formal aspects of artwork. 25- Participation and Effort Worked on Project in Class or at Home, was not distracted or off task. Effort was appropriate for grade level and assignment
