Many take advantage of fellow workers and their employers. • Sometimes, employers take advantage of their workers
Christians are to work • Work is good - Proverbs 14:23, 12:14 • Ecclesiastes 5:12 • Even Adam was given the task of working – Gen. 2:15. Even after the fall, the “curse” of work was actually beneficial (3:17-19)

Responsibilities in work • Give your best – • Eccl. 9:10 whatever you do, do with your might • Reference to the master/slave relationship gives us principles of work – Colossians 3:22-24, Ephesians 6:5-8, 1 Timothy 6:1-2
Responsibilities in work • Work with integrity - • Titus 2:9-10, honesty and respect • An honest day’s work for your wages 1 Peter 2:12(Even when the boss is not looking) • Do the job you were hired to do!
Responsibilities in work • Proper attitudes - • Contentment – Luke 3:14, 1 Timothy 6:6-10, Prov. 22:7 • Be thankful, Ecclesiastes 3:13, 1 Thess. 5:18 • Don’t be prideful! You can’t walk away just because the job is not ideal.
Responsibilities in work • Treat others fairly and properly • Matthew 7:12 • We should not take advantage of other employees. • Respect the customer
Responsibilities in work • Be pleasant • Ephesians 4:31, the bitter, hateful attitude is sinful in this environment as well
Responsibilities of employers • Exploiting condemned – James 5:4, Jeremiah 22:13 • Give proper pay – Lev. 19:13, Luke 10:7, Deut. 24:14-15 • Ephesians 6:9, Colossians 4:1 – be good, give up threatening… • Typically, such will produce better loyalty and productivity
A final thought: • Find honorable work • Don’t stay at a job that causes you to compromise your faith. Will it take you away from serving God? Does it involve sinful activity? Deut. 23:18
