Safe computing is a kind of practice that involves computer software and security settings. These practices ensure that your computer is in a healthy state. Manage your passwords: Have you ever noticed when you are creating an account on a website or application, a suggestion is always given while creating a password to keep it strong and not so simple? This is to ensure that your account may remain safe and someone never breaks your privacy. It is advisable to not use birthdays, names, and other easily accessible information. This is quite a common thing that many people do which is they note their passwords on sticky notes, save it in their email, or write somewhere back in their diary or notebook. This shouldn’t be done at all. Rather than that, it is suggested to use a password manager app that is encrypted backed up to keep them safe. 2. Although it is quite important to have a reputable protective software i.e antivirus installed. Keeping your computer updated is equally important to have an antivirus installed in your computer system. It is your choice to keep your computer system updated on a manual basis or automatically but it is highly recommended to practice it on a continuous basis. In addition to the same, it is important to keep the firewall updated. This will help you to avoid people to pry on your computer system while you are online. 3. Scan: Hiding viruses in attachments and sending it via emails and links to affect others’ computer privacy is one of the most practiced methods by cybercriminals. It is quite obvious that viruses can lurk in the email accounts of even your friends and family.

  4. Zip files are one of the common ways to transfer viruses from one system to another. Many people have a question that can antivirus scan zip files? It seems almost no, but one should always keep an eye before exploring those files especially from an unknown source. Another common way of viruses to enter into your computer system is when you insert an external device with your computer. People forget to scan it right away, that’s where they invite viruses to destroy their computer. It is important to run a proper scan to avoid any damage. 4. Use trusted browsers: Browsers like Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox are some of the examples of trusted browsers. One of the top reasons why these browsers are known to be safe is that they have built-in security features that lower down the rate of your computer being vulnerable to risks. These browsers also provide additional options in their settings, for you to make changes according to yourself to ensure strong safety than it already has. 5. Avoid connecting your network just anywhere:

  5. It is highly suggested to avoid connecting your computer system with public wifi networks. There are high chances amongst those unknown people around you, one of them trying to attempt malicious activity in order to access your account information or personal details via Wi-Fi. We recommend you use Virtual Private Network (VPN) that encrypts your connection by linking it with a safe and secure server in the middle. Keep your security settings tight in order to play safe. It is very important for people to report stolen finances, highly important data loss, identities, and other activities related to cybercrime to the country’s official cybercrime reporting department. To conclude, these steps are not bulletproof that will totally protect your computer but these points will help you to avoid any such incident to happen. It is very important to get your computer system checked after some duration by a PC technician or an IT expert. Practicing the above-mentioned points will help you to extend the life of your computer system.
