    1. Rick Johnson Raised in Houston, Texas, Rick Johnson came to Central Oregon to be the Crook County High School and Middle School choir director in 2001. After two years of building the choral programs at both schools, Rick was moved to the high school full-time.   While at the high school, Rick is teaching the Jazz Choir, Concert Choir, Women’s Choir, Americana Music, and Drama. Rick directed the CCHS musical You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. He co-directed the CCHS musicals Guys and Dolls, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and South Pacific. Rick received his Bachelor of Music degree in Musical Theater and his Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University. He received his Oregon Music Teaching Certification from Oregon State University. Rick has performed as a professional singer, actor, dancer, and director in respected theaters around the country. This Fall, he can be seen at the Cascades Theatrical Company Theater in Bend, as “Charlie” in the musical Brigadoon, for which he is also the music director. Some of Rick’s favorite roles include Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Robin in Robin Hood: The Musical, Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Show, The Leading Player in Pippin, and Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. In his spare time, Rick enjoys the mountains of Central Oregon. During the warm months, he can be found hiking, mountain climbing, camping, and fly-fishing. During the cold months, he races through the mountains with his team of nine sled dogs. Rick is very lucky to have found a beautiful wife who shares (and puts up with) his extremely busy lifestyle. It takes quite a woman to share a home with a musician who is hardly ever home, 9 dogs, and 3 cats. Rick would like to thank his family, students, and all the people of this wonderful community for their support.
