State of Good Repair Initiative • State of Good Repair Bus and Bus Facility Discretionary Program Funds • Funding will help maintain bus fleets, infrastructure, and equipment • Competitive application process • Notice of funding available – May 4, 2010 • $776,474,305 available • 422 applications received • $4.06 billion requested

  3. State of Good Repair Initiative • Iowa’s Application • $16,694,947 – submitted June 18, 2010 • Awarded $5,000,000 – published in the FR 11-30-2010 • Individual Earmarks • Ames $3,688,000 • Cedar Rapids $1,468,000 • Dubuque and Region 8 $2,303,306

  4. Identifying Candidate Projects • Only replacement rolling stock projects were considered • Continued down the FY2010 PTMS list • Worked with Public Transit Equipment and Facilities Management System (PTMS) Advisory Committee • Points awarded based on age and mileage • Prioritize highest points down

  5. State of Good Repair Discretionary Projects • 4 - 40’ Heavy-duty buses $ 1,355,520 • 3 – 30’ Heavy-duty buses 896,400 • 2 – 28’ Medium-duty buses 255,640 • 37 – Light-duty buses 2,353,000 • 4 – Minivans 139,440 50 vehicles $5,000,000
