SALSC CONFERENCE 28.2.2009 • a non-governmental and not-for-profit international umbrella association of organizations working in the fields of Sport for All, Youth and Culture developed in 1995 • ISCA supports development of Recreational Sport, Health Sport, and promotion of Sport for All. • ISCA facilitates international Sport for All cooperation, organisational development and leadership training. • ISCA has members from more than 70 countries on five continents.
SALSC CONFERENCE 28.2.2009 Health and fitness related activities should have priority in the organizations, ISCA members. This goal is now being transformed into the concrete long-term ISCA- ProjectPATHE (Physical Activity Towards a Healthier Europe), that in Cooperationwith four Associate partners: • Slovenian Sports Union (SUS) • Unione Italiana sport per tutti (UISP) • Union Sportive de l'Enseignement du Premier degré (USEP) • Danish Gymnastics and Sports Association (DGI) works to build capacity and disseminates knowledge on the use of physical activity in health initiatives in Sport for All Associations from Czeck Republic, Iceland, Finland, Serbia, Italy , Portugal, Montenegro , France, Spain, Scotland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania and Germany.
SALSC CONFERENCE 28.2.2009 PATHE PROJECT period: November 2007 – MAY 2010 PATHE is receiving support from the European Commission, Executive Agency for Health and Consumers - Grant Agreement 2006338 Comission funding: 258.522,00 EUR Deliverables: PATHE leaflet, PATHE pamphlet, PATHE Midterm report, Final report, Organization Twinning Case Studies, Report from PATHE Seminar 2008 and 2009, PATHE website and PATHE Handbook of Best Practices for national SFA organizations
SALSC CONFERENCE 28.2.2009 The two overall objectives of PATHE are: • support and strengthen Sport For All (SFA) organisations in the development of their own health and physical activity promotion campaigns and initiatives • actively implement the EC White Paper “A Strategy for Europe on Nutrition, Overweight, and Obesity related health issues” into existing and planned national grassroots initiatives. The two general objectives of PATHE are: • Build capacity within SFA organisations to develop effective national campaigns to make selected targeted audiences aware of the necessity to lead healthy lifestyles by doing physical activity and to broaden the availability of physical activity programmes to be goal oriented and inclusive rather than exclusive. • Disseminate knowledge on the promotion of health and physical activity throughout Europe. ....is a good way of creating partnership
SALSC CONFERENCE 28.2.2009 Cooperation framework As a Collaborating partner you get: • Participation in a twinning (2 persons from your organisation visiting for 2 days the health project of an experienced organisation) to get knowledge of best practices from associate partners and gain the new experiences to be used in your own organisation • Opportunity to organize a meeting/round table/seminar in your organisation to share knowledge of best practices together with our expert • Receiving PATHE leaflets and pamphlets for dissemination to organizational leaders at regional and local club levels in your organisation • PATHE Handbook • Participation in the ISCA Health and Physical Activity Information Network • 2 days Consultancy visit from ISCA and Associate Partners on your programme and activity development • Information about and access to further education programmes for health project implementation via the ISCA secretariat • As the project is already funded by the European Commission, you will have funding of the majority of your costs for participation in the twinning in 2008 and in the closing PATHE conference in 2009. ....is a good way of creating partnership
SALSC CONFERENCE 28.2.2009 USEP as Associate partner and SALSC as Collaborating Pratner in PATHE Title of the national project: “My health in Games “ or how to return the child an actor of his health. USEP highlighted the education in the health trough the sports practice. On the slogan “My Health in Games”, children organise and participate in forums of discussion and meetings. They illustrate as well as represents for them the notion of health and the way of expressing in sports activities. ....is a good way of creating partnership

Indeed, healthis a key topic for governments, individualsand a wholerange of organisations world-wide. We have national and international “Action plans in the physical activity and health field”, we have: PATHE ISCA HEALTH NETWORK 2nd European Sports for all Congress Children Fitness Seminar Education programs all over the Europe Mission statements/position papers PATHE Seminar 2008, 2009 European Youth and Sport Forum 2008 in France Summer Camps, Seminars, Meetings, Twinnings.... ....is a good way of creating partnership
