Introduction Solutions Navigation sessions provide a structured, interactive process for quickly assessing common facility-related needs and practices. Navigation sessions make use of a specially-designed “game-board” assessment tool called the Solutions Navigator™ and are facilitated by certified Johnson Controls consultants. Navigation sessions help clients address a wide range of facility challenges ranging from the design of new facilities, the improvement of existing infrastructure or the development of a facilities strategic plan.
Background • The Solutions Navigator™ started as a market research tool supporting Six-Sigma “voice of the customer” studies for new products and service development. After using the tool during on-site assessments, clients would invariably ask three key questions: • What did my colleagues say? • How does my organization compare to others? • Now that you know my problems, can you help me solve them? • Response to these client needs lead to the further refinement of the tool for planning and solution design.
Solutions NavigatorTM Planning Tool The game-board is set up in a five-by five grid with axes customized for each exercise. Participants individually place “needs” and “practice” cards on the game-board to assess current performance and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
