What you really need to know! A histogram uses bars to display data that have been organized into equal intervals. It is a special type of bar graph.
What you really need to know! • There is no space between bars. • All bars have the same width.
Example 1: The frequency table shows the number of overseas visitors to certain U.S. cities in 1999. Display the data in a histogram.

Example 2: Use the histogram. How many states have highest points with elevations at least 3,751 meters? 12
Example 2: Use the histogram. Is it possible to tell the height of the tallest point? NO! You can only tell it is between 5,001 and 6,250 meters.
Example 3: Use the histograms. Services! Which business sector has more states between 1,001,000 and 3,000,000 employees?
