What you really need to know! A cylinder is a solid figure that has two congruent, parallel circles as its bases. The volume V of a cylinder with radius r is the area of the base B times the height h.

Example 1: Find the volume of the cylinder. Round to the nearest tenth. 5.5 cm 9 cm
Example 2: Find the volume of a cylinder-shaped coffee can that has a diameter of 3 inches and a height of 6 inches.
