REMINDERS Under the CGS 47-230, "they may make any improvements or alterations to his unit that do not impair the structural integrity or mechanical systems or lessen the support of any portion of the common interest community..." If a shareholder wishes to do this kind of construction, they will have to obtain, at their sole cost and expense, a certification from a structural engineer that the renovations that they seek to undertake will not result in structural changes to the unit in violation of the applicable general statutes. If they undertake such renovations without the requested certification, we will seek a court ordered injunction and will request the reimbursement of all legal costs and fees.
REMINDERS In addition, pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes 47-230 (2) a unit owner "may not change the appearance of common elements, or the exterior appearance of a unit or any other portion of the common interest community, without permission of the association"
